Each volume begins with a chapter providing a general idea of the current problems, results, and trends relating to the subject treated. This volume describes the development of active and passive thin films on glass at Schott. Design strategies, the use of conventional and newly developed production technologies of thin films on glass, and the application of characterization methods for the structure of thin films and their properties are reported.
