Husi Cázares grew up in Arizona in small villages on the Tohono O'odham Reservation. He holds a M.A. in Native American Studies from the University of Arizona. He has taught his tribes culture, language and History. Currently, Husi works as a tri-lingual speech language pathologist in southern Arizona and remains active in language preservation within his tribe. Kerrie Ann Cazares works at a nonprofit literacy organization providing books to classrooms and libraries in Title One schools in Pima County, Arizona. She writes and illustrates books, language coloring books, and language materials for learning the O'odham language with her husband. She got her bachelor's degree at Saint Xavier University in Chicago, Illinois.
