Emily graduated with a degree in English in the early 90s and went to work for her family's graphic design business. There she dabbled in graphic design, photo research, illustration and copyediting for educational books. After years of watching other people write books she decided she wanted to try to write her own, and has recently written several children's fiction and non-fiction readers. Emily lives in a small village in the Cambridgeshire fens with her husband and their beloved dog, Rory.
I have been working as a freelance Illustrator since 1985, after completing a degree at Kingston, specialising in Illustration. Over the years I've evolved into a fully paid up member of the digital age. After too many disasters with a bottle of ink, probably caused by the cat, I embraced the computer age. My work is heavily influenced by 1950's and 60's cartoons. Most of my images are digitally generated, however I nearly always begin with pencil on paper, creating a 'hand drawn' style. |
